Are they strictly for embroidery or can you use them for regular sewing too?
I'm going to buy a new machine and I'd love to be able to embroider too but don't know much about the machines.

I have a Viking Designer 1, It sews great and I love the embroidery part. I lived a long time only having 1 machine that does both.

I have a Singer SES 2000. It does both, but it is a bit of an inconvenience to change back and forth. I sometimes wish I had two seperate machines.

I have one that does both. I have a good sewing machine and will probably never use the combo machine to sew. This is the 2nd combo machine I've owned and I never sewed on the other one either.

The non combo machines are cheaper too.

I have a brother that does both. I am just learning to sew with it and learn all the features. I will tackle the embroidery part later when I have time. DH will have to help me figure it out. I bought it used and got a great deal for it.
