I have the viking designer se, love it, i can switch from sewing to emb just like that, i would love to go for the diamond but $$ don't have, but this one works great. since i can switch from sewing to emb i don't need more machines, joannes is always having sales on traded in models. check them out.

I have the Diamond and believe me it is well worth the money. I got a floor model with a 3 year extended warranty included; saved me $3000. The nice thing about the Diamond is that you don't have to remove the emb. unit to sew. It gives you extra sewing bed to support a quilt or other large project. I also have the SE and love it too.

I bought a Bernina 185E five years ago. I regret not buying the better model that was $3000 more at that time. The more expensive model does so much more than mine and has so many more options.
I wish I had gone into the store and asked them to SHOW me what the difference was between the machines. I wish I had told them to convince me that one was better than the other. I will buy another someday, but not with the same dealer. They have not been very warm and fuzzy.
