Embroidery Mishap

I have started to practice with the embroidery part of my Brother LB6800. We were working on a flower, when my dd bumped the plug and it shut off. Is there a way to get it to start up where it left off? Or is it lost?

I have a Designer Se and I can start up where I left off. I just have to write down the specifics before I start. And also keep it hooped. The trouble is....I forget to write down the specifics when I start!

Did you keep it hooped and in the machine? If so you'd be able to use the back up buttons to get the needle over the spot where the embroidery stopped. I usually back up a few extra stitchs for a running start. I have a Janome 350e.

If you started in the center by letting the machine tell you where to start and you didn't make any adjustments to the size of the design before you started, you can turn it back on and jump to the area where you left off by (on mine I hit help and then forward to the position I want.) going forward. It will go jump through the stitches that are there and when it gets to the area where YOU think it should begin, back it up a couple of stitches and push start.

As long as you just hooped and started to embroider, you should be able to recover. Even my first cheapie embroidery machine would let you do this. You advance to the color you stopped at, then advance the stitch count to the approximate area you stopped. Better to restitch a bit than advance too far. If, however, you adjusted the design placement after you put the hoop on the machine (like moved it to the left a bit, or made it smaller) you can't recover unless you recorded your changes somewhere. Good luck!
