If you are using a metalic thread, use a needle for metalics. The eye in the needle is bigger and the thread goes tharu easier. Also use a good grade of embroidery bobbin thread. The tension usually has to be loosened too.

Try adding another piece of stabilizer.

Metalic thread is often a pain to use.

Are you using a needle specifically for metallic threads, such as a Metallicia? Believe it or not, it does help!! If you can slow your machine speed down go a lot slower. Sometimes the brand of thread makes a big difference also so maybe you can get a spool of a different brand and see if that helps.

unthread both bobbin and top threads and rethread carefully.

Sometimes this happens because the top thread gets caught on the spool. Make sure your thread is coming off the spool smoothly. Also your bobbin may not be wound correctly - if the bobbin is messy then it will not come off the bobbin correctly.

I don't know what type of machine you have. I have a Brother Innovis 1500 D. For straight stitches, I set the tension on four but for embroidery I set it on 1.8. That seems to stop the bleed through of the white. I also use a clear water soluble stabilizer on the top of the fabric. Hope it helps

Change the needle, re-thread, turn the machine on and off.

If the gold thread on top is metallic - are you using the correct needle? It will need a bigger needle size. Also, if it is metallic then it will be hard to wrap around the bobbin.

If the gold is just thread - then wrap the bobbin with the same thread and carry on:)
