I use Metro I ordered on line. It is great with my machine and is priced where I can afford to get all the colors I want. I have Madiera, RAnton. Coats and Clark which my tech hates but it works just fine on my machine, sulky. I think it is just a matter of finding what works best on your machine I have been lucky and my machine seems to use just about anything.

When I first started emb I used what I could find and what I had on hand and wondered why my stuff never came out like it was suppose to. Now I buy good quality thread and get good results. The biggest lesson learned was I found a "good deal" on thread from a site for a little over $100...there were 72 or so spools...I bought it...its junk. My machine HATES it! I finally threw it all back in the box and shoved it in the top of the closet. Money wasted lesson learned.

I ordered a bunch called poly star the only thread my machine will not use. It just doesn't like it. It is important to get the best thread you can afford and that your machine will like. I have beeen very forunate that my machine uses a variety of threads and looks good.

I've used a varitey of brands... C & C works well for me. I did exactly what everyone tells me NOT to do.... I bought cheap off ebay... BETA brand, polyester thread.... so far I love it. I think I paid well under $1.00 per 1100yds . I have some problems with Rayon thread if the design is very full.
