After many years with various generations of EQ, if you are new to it, I *strongly* suggest you either work through their included tutorials or pick a simple pattern and try working through it before attempting to tackle anything important. Most problems have a simple answer, but there is a bit of a learning curve. I also highly recommend the tutorials on the Electric Quilt website, which unfortunately were added way after I started using it. It wold have saved me many time consuming searches for answers.
