I have EQ 5 and know about as much about it as you do. I just can't get enthused about it I guess. Maybe someday...

Just got EQ7. I have watched all the videos and am on lesson 3. I love it. Have to design a quilt for the next BOM project at the LQS, this is going to make that project so much easier and quicker to do. May be ready to go in June instead of September as originally planned.

I actually use it in a very limited capacity, but I find it very useful for some things such as when I want to change the size of a block it is a matter of a keystroke or two rather than an hour with pencil and paper, or if I want to print out a template for a particularly awkward polygonal piece, or for just previewing general color combos.

I still design in my head and then doodle on paper. EQ is just another of the tools that I use for the final product.

Congratulations, Julie! It sounds like you're on a roll and doing great things. I think the lessons are the greatest, wish my embrodiery software had come with lessons; the manual was like reading Japanese translated to English but somewhere along the way there was something lost in the translation! Keep up the good work, Chris

Another way I use my EQ is to remember a pattern I want to try. I take the pattern or an idea i had and create it in EQ so I won't forget it. That way it is recorded and I can go back and work on colors or whatever I may want to do with the ideas I saved that way.

Hi! Everyone, Its been a while, hope everyone is okay. I finally got started on my Skylights quilt but immediately came across a problem. I'm paper-piecing some of the blocks and my first block came out backwards. I thought I was going to have to trace the blocks on the wrong side of the paper to make them out facing the right direction but a "little birdie" told me that there was options selection after selecting foundation piecing, that would let you mirror image the pattern. Did I breathe a sigh of relief, I could see myself having to trace a few blocks!!!
Now I have 1 block almost finished but PP is so slow. But I'm enjoying the process and the quilt will definitely hold alot memories; have never done this many PP blocks and best of all, learning to use EQ! Chris

I'll gladly help anyone who has questions about EQ. I started with 5 and now, have 7. I use it everyday, and have lots of practice. I wrote a tutorial about using the EQ block library, and it is here and on my blog. When I find the link, I'll send it to you.

Could you please direct some questions to me, so I know what you'd like to learn first. Then, I'll make some more tutorials.

Also, if you have any generalized quilting questions, I'm willing to help. I'm writing an e-book, like a quilting encyclopedia, and I'd like to answer some questions from other quilters, and might add yours to my book.

    Ask away, please!

Where are you marketing your ebook? Just curious.
