So glad this thread was posted. i am going back and forth on buying this. Was always afraid i wouldn't be able to figure it out.

Okay, I have to admit this made me laugh. I have a mental picture of someone stretched out, trying to type on two computers at the same time. :lol:

I really want this program! It sounds like exactly what I need to expand on my designing quilts.

Its invalueable when doing the IRR...you can import the jpeg. pic of the center and then play around with the borders until you are happy. I love that part!

I use EQ for every quilt I make no matter how simple or ocmplicated the design. I either take the block from the library or draw my own. I design the quilt I think I want and then I play with the options. I might change the block or add another block or change the color placements. I can explore an endless number of options before I cut a single peice of fabric or even buy my fabric for that matter. This way I know what I need and I know how much I might need if I decide on another option.

I use mine about the same ... I did have to limit my "I want to make list" as I was getting so many created and had to get moving for Christmas. Love the freedom to create that EQ6 gives me--I didn't know I had it in me :)

I wouldn't be without my EQ5. i use it all the time. I can spend hours playing with all the possibilities. I could never come up with all the patterns I have discovered on my own.

I love to create a block and then add that block into a quilt layout. Then I turn the quilt block to see what designs will appear. It is kind of like a kaleidoscope. You never know how it will look when the blocks are turned.

I play with color alot too. If you saw my first ebook Playing with Boston Blocks all my patterns in that book were created on my EQ. I love to discover what if answers. What if I turn this this way. What if I change this color to dark and this color to light. I can see patterns in the combined quilt blocks that wouldn't have occurred to me if I had made blocks and laid them out on a table. I love love love my EQ5 and I think it is so easy to use. If I have questions I just call the customer service number and someone helps answer my questions.

I highly recommend it! I wouldn't want to be without it now.

Loretta I bought EQ5 two years ago and then they upgrade and you can buy the upgrade which adds to what you already have. I just haven't updated.

I bought the EQ5 because I could get it on ebay brand new and register it to me for a really really great price. I might upgrade it someday, but so far I havent' seen the need to do that.

I haven't upgraded to EQ6, but use my EQ5 quite a bit. It's handy to resize patterns and quilts, and also to reproduce ideas I've seen in magazines, online, or tv and make changes to personalize them. I also like to change colors and see which I'd like the best before I start making a new quilt.

I started out with EQ6...there are advantages to both it and EQ5... I am happy with mine and all that it can do. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!!!
