I am SO disappointed I feel like taking this program back to the quilt shop -- which involves a 50 mile RT!
I bought the program this morning and tried to install. I keep getting an Error code 1606. Of course, NONE of their written materials or web site address this problem. And of course, they won't be in until Monday!!!!!!!!! Has anyone else had the problem and what did you do?

    Here's what it says:

Error 1606. Could not access network location %APPDATA%\

Go to electricquilt.com and go to their forum page. You can post questions there and usually get a quick answer. Monday morning you can call them too. I wonder if the site is down or maintanence being done on it?

It's not EQ6, it's your computer has incorrect settings in one of the registry subkeys. It's easy to find a fix for it. Goolgle fix for error 1606

what operating system are you using? if vista, try this fix.
    click start>computer
    double click c drive>program files>Electric Quilt 6
open the EQ6 folder and look for the red/white EQ6.EXE file (application file)
right click on it and choose run as administrator in the menu
    click allow

this is the fix for the error 42 code. It may help, it definitely won't hurt anything. check your virus protection, firewall or pop up blocker to see if they are blocking a portion of the application from loading. You may need to disable them temporarily and try the install again.

Error 42 code didn't help..BUT I got it fixed!!!!! This shows you how DESPERATE I was to play with EQ6!!! Thanks to someone here saying to google the error code (will only work if you use quotes, BTW)....I found a web site with step by step instructions. I actually got into the bowels of the computer and removed one of those files we were taught to never touch and did a fix!! OH MY GOSH, it worked.......now if you'll excuse me, I'll go play! :) :) :)

    thanks everyone!
