    Default EQ7 Dear Jane

    Hi Everyone,

Does anybody have the EQ7 Dear Jane. Can you tell me if it is worth buying? Can you print foundation patterns for all the blocks? Anything you can tell me would really be appreciated.

    Hugs

    Caroline

eq7 is not required. i have eq5 and use the software. it's kind of a stand-alone. it's your operating system that determines if it will work for you http://electricquilt.com/online-shop...20Requirements . there are a lot of good questions and answers as well as reviews on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Electric-Quilt.../dp/B002XNWLJ0 .
the book comes with the software. i've not really opened the book. yes, you can print foundation patterns. it's really worth getting.

The Dear Jane EQ software is based on EQ5, and it is a standalone. I checked the book out of the library a couple of times and decided that the software would be much more useful than the book. And it is - but I still haven't started on my DJ quilt!

The software allows you to choose pp pattern, templates, or rotary cutting directions, which ever you prefer, unless it is an appliqué block. The software is much more useful than the book, but the book is a nice companion for it. The software also allows you to resize the blocks if you want to make it bigger or smaller.

I definitely agree, the software was the lifesaver for me...although I bought the book first..it allows so many options, gives great measurements...and you can even enlarge the blocks . I decided on 6", so much easier and who's going to know! But, sadly, just another ufo for now!

Glad I read this thread. I would like to try one of these some time. Maybe I should buy the software now before it becomes unavailable. I already have EQ7.

A while back, it was only PC-based. Not sure if they have MAC version.

I liked the idea of the software so much I told my daughter she could put it on my Christmas list. It's not something I'll do soon but I was afraid by the time I was ready to do it the software would not be available.
