I've been looking at EQ7 trying to decide if I would use it enough to warrant the cost.

Can anyone tell me if or how EQ7 handles applique designs? I've watched some of the videos and looked at their website, and could have missed it. Thanks so much!

EQ7 has a lot of pre-designed applique blocks and motifs that you can edit and size to fit your needs. With some practice you can also draw out your own designs from scratch or "trace" an imported picture. The applique templates can be printed out with a seam allowance (for turned applique) or without (for fused). I think this program is definitely worth the money! If you do decide to get it, go through the tutorials in the user manual first thing...a lot of your questions will be answered!

I haven't tried to design using applique yet but there are a lot of applique designs already in the program and you can use PatchDraw to design your own. Also with all the photo editing tools you can always import a scanned picture too - I believe you would do that just like you can scan your own fabric in. sorry I couldn't be of more help

If you go to the Lessons Section in EQ7, there are 3 Applique Lessons that you can print out. I am working through these at the moment.

You can get EQ7, full version at I have a notion dot com. I can't type out the url as for some reason I get an error message. But it is the cheapest place I have seen to buy it.

I got the add-on of Baltimore Album and Folk Art applique. There is just about any BA block you could want and the Folk Art is great too. I've used two of them as the center medallion in quilts so far.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. After hearing from you, I think EQ7 will be appearing in my near future!
