I use it for every machine, domestic and LA and have no trouble at all.

To solve the lint issue I made a little tube out of scrap fabric that fits over the hook on my thread stand so the thread runs over the fabric and gets " de-linted " before it even gets to my machine ! Love this idea--I have always used Aurifil but have recently purchased some Essential thread and I'm going to try this great tip.

I live in Kenai and there is a great shop in Soldotna--J&H Sewing that repairs all brands of machines. You may have heard of them. It is closer than Anchorage.

A professional cleaning requires shipping to Anchorage - not really a option very often. I wish someone here would learn how to work on sewing machines.

Sometimes the threads that seem expensive really aren't as bad as they seem. Aurifil is -not- one of the expensive threads out there. Mettler and Gutermann are both more expensive when you figure the price per meter or yard.

I did a cost comparison of them back in April. Yes, Connecting Threads is cheaper by more than 3 times, but Mettler and Gutermann are about twice as expensive as Aurifil.

I love it and use it for both piecing and quilting. I do not have "Princess and the pea" machines, they take what I offer and keep on sewing, no choking or sneezing.

Love that description - I think I will use the same when talking about my old Husqvarna (Viking)

This idea actually hit me when I first started quilting last year and of course being new I thought " Oh what an awesome deal all this big cone thread at the dollar store ! " Yeah well , LOL, I HAD to find a way to de-lint the thread somehow because my husband was NOT about to let me get MORE thread when " you have a huge tote full of it already " ( he has since learned it is safer not to ask WHAT I am buying, or why I am buying it )
