    Default Estate Sale Find

Hi all, I found this quilt ruler at an estate sale this morning. It's 6" wide X 38" long. I thought it would be great for trimming and cutting longer strips without slipping since it has a lip edge. I've never seen a quilt ruler like this, so it followed me home. It is not acrylic, but some sort of flexible plastic and the price was right.

I have a shorter one that I got a very long time ago. It is labeled "O'lippa lip edge ruler. I never use it much probably because I did all my cutting on a round oak dinning table.

Believe it or not but I do have one very similar to yours. Have had it for years but I don't use it very often. The extra lip does help at times especially when I'm trimming after quilting my top. Just wish it had the non-slip stuff on the backside as it does want to move on me. Have no clue where I got it but I know I had it for years.

Tip: Spray the back side of the ruler with basting spray. Just a squirt, you don't need a lot. This will stop the ruler from slipping on the fabric and is easily removed with alcohol.
