Hello folks,
I was just browsing through all the lovely quilting items on Etsy.com, and I was wondering if any one has any experience selling items there? I'm just wondering how much traffic that site gets and if it might be worth an attempt to sell a few things in the future. So do you have a shop on Etsy? Do you generally sell a lot of items or get a lot of views of your projects? Also, when making items for your shops, do you feel it is necessary to use LQS quality fabric? Have you noticed if items Jo-Ann quality fabric sell less?

To sell there you really have to advertise the living heck outta your store. I sold a few crochet dolls on there but... I haven't really been trying lately. I got tons of views though :)

Awww, that lion is so adorable!!
Yes, I could see how the constant need to advertise could be time consuming. Maybe if I'm still unemployed by January I'll give it a shot...nothing to lose, lol!

I have had quilts on there for a looong time. Not selling too much. I finally took everything off the site and started handing them out to friends! I have finally decided it's far better to babysit kids and clean a couple of houses for my quilting habit!!!

I sold a quick/easy baby quilt within a week of posting it. It wasn't cheap, but not expensive either. I think 80 bucks. Then I sold 3 patchwork pillows that I unearthed in the garage, so they were "free." Yeah, lots of views but eventually a buyer. It's very cheap to list things and the fees for selling aren't bad either. I LOVE TO BROWSE THIS SITE for ideas about everything. Obviously I'm not alone.
