Stielito, I can't spell it, or any sharp point thing to guide the fabric. Bamboo shrewder African porkinpine quill, seam ripper, tooth pick. Do you get the idea with my bad spelling. You have to maintain control at the end of the seam as the feed dogs snd pressure foot is going to
draw the seam aside.

The stiletto is important to hold down fabric. I use mine and ride it all the way in the middle of the foot to the hole. Oh....don't forget to use the single hole plate...that helps prevent shifting/wonkyness too.

I have always used a scrap piece as a leader and ender and it helps with this problem.

Also use a stiletto, but mine is 2 pronged. One of the prongs is flat.

I've tried the quilting feet. I have one that's off a smidge, and I always had trouble with the edge guide. It was a pain for sewing Kwik-Sew garments as most of the knits used 1/4" (Pfaff)

Fortunately, the plate on the Juki 2010 is accurate (I have an old gauge from years ago for measuring) and the Juki is mechanical. I can use either the T guide or a magnetic guide and the normal foot. I think the problem with the edge guide is I can't see what I'm doing. Have more visibility with the magnet guide and that thing won't move, either. It sits in the 1/4" groove.

I find metal stilettos are too heavy for me. I've opted to use a shish-kabob stick. If you misplace it - no worry. There are 99 left in the drawer where you keep them.

Excellent tip was posted on this board. If you don't have a single throat plate, put a piece of painter's tape over the hole, no need for leader or enders.

I started a couple quilts and am using the leader-endr system like Bonnie Hunter so I've got couple quilts going at the same time. Kind of fun.

Re: leaders and enders, aren't you getting the wonky parts on them instead of your quilt pieces? Then you still have to deal with them when putting your scrap quilt together. Always wondered about that. I use a scrap to start (a "spider") and a stiletto or firm pressure from the left when ending.
