    Default EverSewn Foot Pedal

I have an EverSewn /Sparrow and have found it to be my sturdy little work horse. I've had it for several years and have had no problems, except for right now. The foot pedal will not engage all the time and at the end of the seam it sometimes continues sewing. I have a lot of friends that have this same machine. Last weekend I found out my friend has this very same problem. She has resorted to using the start/stop button. While that's a solution I'm finding it to be a pain to do this. Any suggestions?

I had a machine that kept sewing after I took my foot off the pedal. My husband took it apart and cleaned it and it worked fine. If the pedal can't be taken apart then try a new pedal. They are about $25.

Sounds like wiring in the foot controller gone bad. If you've only had it for a few years, won't the dealer honor a warranty? I would contact the dealer you bought it from and see what they say.

I bought a used Janome and had the same problem. I had to turn off the machine to stop it from continuing sewing. I took it to my LQS where I purchased it and there was a problem with the foot pedal. Got it replaced at no charge and now I can sew with no problem

Thank you for the suggestions on the foot pedal. Onebyone - you gave me the courage to pry open the pedal and look inside. Used a vacuum to get dust out and discovered a little spring that had been dislodged.
I'm back in business!!!! Thank you all!
