    Default Eversewn Sparrow 30

I'd like to know anything I can about this machine if anyone owns one or has had the opportunity to try one. They seem to be very well priced in the USA, but I haven't seen anything of them here in Canada. I like that it has a thread cutter and needle threader so if it's got good reviews it might be worth the currency exchange rate. Thanks, everyone.

Have you done a search online especially on YouTube for reviews? I know I have seen some come across on my feed. Also I believe they have some information about these on MSQC, oh I just remembered seeing Leah Day using the red one on her channel. Good luck!

I don't know about the Sparrow, but I have the Eversewn Hero, and I love almost everything about it. You mentioned the thread cutter and the threader, which are two of the things I'm not crazy about.

Even though the thread cutter is basically in the same position as it was on my old machine, I find it a bit awkward to use. I think it is because my old machine was a bit more rounded and the Eversewn is more square. I usually end up using my thread snips. As for the threader, it works great most of the time, but I just cannot get it to work with larger needles, such as the size 14 needles I use for sewing on denim. It works fine with the 11s and 12s I use for quilting.

The only other thing I'm about my Hero, and I'm not sure if it is a feature on the Sparrow, is the thread sensors. Once the machine decides your bobbin is empty, it will not continue stitching. Its pretty annoying to have to manually advance the last inch of a seam one stitch at a time when I know there is at least another yard of thread left on the bobbin. I also learned to ease things like sleeves by stitching without thread, and I just cannot do that with the Eversewn.

Otherwise, I absolutely love my machine.

I have the Eversewn QE. It has has a larger throat space then the 30. At our last guild retreat I think over half the members brought an Eversewn to use. I didn't hear one complaint about any of them. There is a new version of the Hero if you want to do machine embroidery. Sparrow 25 does not have thread cutter or a few more features of the 30.

When I went to my Bernina dealer to have my girl serviced they had an array of Eversewn machines in the shop. That tells me it's a good machine.

the corporate office is in Chicago, and at least in my case they were quick to respond to my query with some suggestions. Give them a call or email and say there is a clamor for the machines north of the border. I have the 30, sold my featherweight for it.

It probably won't always be this way as stores and dealerships get set up, but keep the box, it says specifically it needs to be sent back to them for repairs. I expect it helps track blips. The cost is the same everywhere, Amazon and local, it is set by them.

As I do with all my machines, I blinged mine up , and bought a cabinet (vintage) for it, I'll be setting up my nook in the 5th wheel for on the road sewing. I sawed off the little surround to make it suit my cabinet needs.

there are a couple of threads here now. Ignore the rumor they are made in the US, they are made in China

Thanks for all the kind replies. I checked out Amazon.com and they are now shipping to Canada for $540 CAD ($399 USD). On the Canadian site they range from $900 to $1400! Hope one comes 'live' to my neighbourhood soon. Kalamaquilts I love the bling on your machine. :-)

The quilt shop in Tillsonburg Ontario sells the Eversewn machines.
I haven't looked closely at them, but on a quick perusal they look nice!

Fed Ex just delivered my Sparrow 30 tonight. Can't wait to play with it this weekend.
