Beautiful little quilt. I just love the victorian style. You did a fantastic job making it.

All comments aside--it is beautiful with such intricate work. If I named it I would call it: "Grandmother's Fan Wall Quilt."

    Websters say a quilt is..
3 layers held together with stitching.

there are no size stipulations- no material stipulations- only that there be 3 layers- held together with some sort of stitch...

so many people over-complicate simple things- a quilt is a simple thing

A quilt has three(3) layers, a top (either whole or pieced), a backing and a filler (batting), held together with some sort of stitches. Size is a matter of chose, yours. There are no Quilt Police, so just don't listen to anything or anyone , just your heart. It will tell you what you love. By the way, it is a lovely small QUILT! ! ! ! !

I too was told that to qualify as a quilt it has to have a top, batting and backing & the size is irrelevant. I would dare anyone to tell me that the wallhangings I have spent weeks hand quilting are not real quilts! I was also told that a cathedral window or a cover made from yo yos is considered a coverlet instead of a quilt because they are not made up of the 3 layers mentioned above.
