I found out recently that Goodwill is privately owned and works on a profit. So now, I only donate to Vietnam Vets and St Vincent DePaul. Also, I went into GW this past week and on everything the priced has bee upped. We also have a clothing closet at a local church and they sell really nice things dirt cheap. Seems like evrybody is out to 'scam' somebody.

Be careful to allow for shrinkage from Ikea. Just watch the quality and you'll be fine. I once bought a 99 muslin pillowcase that, once washed, did not fit a pillow. (It all worked out as I dyed it and used it as fabric....and yes, for 99 cents I got what I paid for, but I still expected more.)

I find our SA has much cheaper prices than GW or St. V's has. I do a lot of yard sales. Get lots of goodies at them.

Yes that is pricey as my thrift store sells them for 2.00 each sheet. I actually got a white twin set still in the package for 5.00 and 100 % cotton.

I agree with Tartan. Over the last couple years, the prices at GW have gotten outrageous. I donate to them, but I rarely shop there.

Yes, that sounds like a high price for a thrift store. However, have you gone into a regular store to buy sheets lately. When I bought right after the first of the year, I was nearly bowled over with the cost of sheets. Even the cheap sets are not cheap any more.

Alot of thrift stores have been raising their prices for things....I frequent our local shop and volunteered there for a few years, our prices are suppose to be set, but it really depends on who is working that day, some volunteers are higher than others....I know that I can not afford Goodwill out here, they are just to expensive, though the money goes to a good cause (I hope).
