I tried the beach towel clips but found them to be awkward and heavy.
This is what I turned to and I really like them. https://www.amazon.com/Coideal-Quilt...95&sr=8-5&th=1
They are the same as the smaller clips, but are about 2 1/4" and the grip on the fabric is stronger. I purchased the Clover brand (green) as I wanted to make sure they were good quality, though the linked ones above, may be the same quality.
Actually, it probably depends on how you want to apply the clips, as to what size you want to get. I also have used the 'bracelet' type, but once I used the jumbo wonder clips, I gave mine away.

The binder clips were hard on my hands. It took a lot of hand strength to open them wide enough to attach to quilting table. I use the large metal clips that are great for beach towels.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SDFF3NV...2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

If you are wanting clamps to fasten your quilt to a table for sandwiching, I use these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The table I use has a beveled edge and the binder clips were hard to use. These work perfectly.

If it's for clamping to a table, I use the blue Irwin clamps from Home Depot or Lowes. They release with a lever.
It probably depends on the thickness of your surface. On mine, the binder clips would destroy the fabric, they'd be so tight. Plus, they are really tough on the joints to take on and off.
