Extra pieces from my bargello - thinking about using them as a backing

Just a thought. Couldn't you quilt them separately then sew them together and bind or maybe even birth them? For reversible wallhangings this is what I do. My batting is thin so the two layers together are fine and the quilt is not washed as frequently as a bed quilt would be. Nice job on both. I really like the waves on your backing.

i am with Jeanne S. I often use leftover pieces when I prepare the backing. It is so satisfying.

Homemother, both of your sides are lovely and the advice to quilt the front as you wish, without overthinking how it will affect the back is sound. I love the quilting pattern that Maniac showed in her picture. The varying widths of the individual piece, joined with the simple corner-to-corner quilting lines, really does bring out the "wave" of the pattern.
