I have won a few small gifts from the shop hop - some are worth the effort - some are not!

just wondering- if the shop you won your gift certificate from was not part of the shop hop- what does this problem have to do with the shop hop?
i have been doing the shop hop for 10 years now- have won g.c.'s over the years- have never had a problem using them

I have only done 1 online shop hop. I think it took too much of my time. I won a skirt pattern that I gave away.

A few months ago (april), I won a $20 GC from a participating shop and had no problem spending it.

I'd also check out the list of winners at :http://www.fabshophop.com/prizewinners_chop3.asp

It seems strange that a non-participating shop would be giving out any gift!

You usually win $10 gift certificate, not $100. I would be suspicious.

I recently won a $100 gift certificate at a site that wasn't even part of the Shop Hop....and they have VERY little fabric to choose from - and a lot of their kits, etc. are either sold out or unavailable at this time.

I even thought I'd get a pair of scissors - they only offer 2...one is Out of Stock and the other is Back-ordered!!!

Is this a joke or what?
That happened to me last year - the shipping alone was half what the coupon was worth.

I won first place on the Fab Shop Hop a few years ago. I got the Brother 1500 wide throat quilting machine. I wanted the Grand prize, the Bernina but the Brother has been a fantastic quilting machine for me. I got a phone call saying I won and to verify my address. The machine was delivered the next week. No fuss, no hassle, and no gimmicks. The person who runs the hop makes sure it's done right so give her a chance to clear up your situation. I agree the $10 gift certificates are usually not worth messing with unless it's from a shop that you order from anyway.

Did the Shop Hop and agree it takes too much time. Haven't done it again.

Did you enter at a quilt shop that offers monthly drawings for prizes? I have seen several online shops that offer monthly drawings for your email address.
