I like making the fabric bowls from cotton clothesline. Ami Simms has a great tutorial on her website how to make them. She dyes her clothesline and doesn't wrap it in fabric. Great idea! She makes nice fancy edges to her bowls too. She calls it Bowling. She's so fun. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I asked DH to pick up more clothesline for me today and he called from the hardware and asked will braided cotton rope work? I said I don't know, get some and I'll see. It worked great. And so much cheaper then the package of clothesline cotton. DH said it came in different thickness, he bought 9/64" (little over 1/8" inch thickness) 48ft for $2. 39 at Ace Hardware. (Pre cut package so it cost more then buying per foot off the roll. He said he was in a hurry but it came with a nifty rope holder) It made a very nice small bowl. I'll be buying at least 100 foot for a bigger table size bowl. I use variegated thread and sew the rope plain for a neat look or use neutral thread and stencil or paint the bowl, like pottery.
