Wow, wow, wow.....I'd feel like a kid in a candy store, like someone receiving a brand new car.....like, like, like...I don't know but I think I would jump at the chance. But....I agree with Sharon B......I don't have to live with your husband. Kind of hard to hide that kind of a stash or the deduction from savings. LOL

Sounds like a good deal to me - IF you can afford it - someone else said that comes out to about $1.00/yard.

Wonder if the lady that made the offer stopped to do HER math?

That's as good as thrift shop prices.

Check the condition...if it isn't stored right...it's not a bargain...

You can tell hubby that this is part of your new part time job, you sell what you can't use.

I agree! You can resell some for a profit to pay for what you'd keep.

I'm with SharonB, LoriL & Quilt4u - talk it over the with DH, that's a lot of money to "invest" even if it is a great deal!!! If you can afford it, not a problem, but if it puts you in a pinch, could become a big problem. It takes time to turn quantity back into dollars and even if everyone of us buys a yard or two at twice what you paid, it would still take a while to recoup.

If I had the fundage and the place to properly store and process it, I'd jump at the chance but only if DH said "okay" (which he most likely would!)

how about offering to help her run a fabric garage sale...set a price per yard and do it for one day. She gets to keep the money you make for her and she gives you all the fabric that;s left over...there's a chance that nothing will be left, but you can always hold out fabric that you especially want so that it's not sold.

Recently same thing happened here. A gal bought someone out then upped the price and sold more than 3/4 of it and made herself a nice profit. It was still cheap to us. She donated some also but it was the scraps. I am not capable of pulling off a stunt like that but some do. Good luck

IF you can do it without danger of starting WWIII I would consider it, as many have said, you could sell it here, keep what you want and still make a profit. Just a thought, could you start out with $500 and a quarter of the inventory, let him see how it goes, then return to the lady for the rest, you would be able to pay in full from the profit.

I think this is a good idea too. I am sure the fabric will be worth your buying it.
