Any advice will be appreciated.

if she's willing to sell you only what you want at a good price, then why make life difficult? get what you like and can afford now, and forget about the rest.
hope your knee heals well and you have a good trip.

Buy it, put in the truck of your car or store it at your friends houses, or at work, or at the neighbors, sneak it in bit by bit at night when DH is asleep, or when he isn't at home. Hide it in an obvious place where he would never look (under your bed, under your kid's beds), in the kitchen cabinets. Slowly put it in your sewing room and tell him "oh that, i've had that for years", start sewing as if you were possessed and keep a look out for guilds that are begging for material for charity projects they are doing and share.

If you don't want it, call me. I'll drive to TN to get it. All kidding aside, if the fabric is not shop worn, could be a great buy. However, is the good buy worth problems with DH? Of course, we all would love to have a chance like that, but we are not in your shoes.
