I think I'd try these first. Twelve for 94 cents. :)

Those would certainly work for a FRACTION of the cost-I would just be careful with the ends of those clips that they don't snag or get caught on the fabric. Another cheap alternative would be jumbo bobby pins-they have plastic tips.

You can get a whole tub of the plastic coated giant paper clips at Walmart for $3.00. They're cheap, don't rust and work just fine.

I think I will stay with straight pins - WOW that is expensive!!! - Rather spend the money on fabric

Paperclips might be a good idea - I think I saw some funky ones at Staples - that they sell by the container - you select the one you want.

Those are not the ones I saw in Clotilde catalog-they are straight. I have those curved binding clips and hate them for binding-they wouldn't stay on when I was hand-quilting on my lap or on my Grace 2 floor frame. They have place of pride along with my bicycle clips at the bottom of my tool chest!!

Plastic paper clips (jumbo) sounds good and cheap!!

I use the barettes. Got a card of them at the dollar store. I don't remember how many are on a card, but several.

I sewed narrow elastic in to bands and it is much easier then pins or clips.
