I use hair clips that snap on like the ones they show...works great and a lot cheaper.

Just something I considered as I went through various fasteners .. and the reason I went with the plastic/vinyl coated paper clips is the remote possibility of rust.

Yes, our home is air-conditioned....
but we also live is S.E. Texas.
In this part of the world you feel the need to breathe through gills a lot of the time! The heat & humidity is just unbearable especially this summer.

I feel that the other metal options were too much of a risk in the long run.
The solid plastic clips, at least the ones I tried broke when I tried to fasten the fabric on the small boards.
The large coated paper clips have done what I wanted for very little cost.

We use the snap-type binding clips on all our bolts, mainly because they're secure, easy to use one-handed and they seem to last about forever. Haven't seen one rust yet, but we're in a very dry climate.

I use the boards from Fabric Organizer then clip one end with barrettes from Hobby lobby when I can get them for 40% off. Works great Fabric Organizer.com.

I got all my paper clips from the Newsagents. I picked the larger plastic covered ones so they never rusted. I also have some of the butterfly clips but I thought that they may rust over time.
