I would never put white binding on the edge because that is the most worn part of a quilt. I would use the matching border pink.

I like the look of the lighter fabric but the dark one is more functional

I would go with the solid because I like the continuity of the look and it will show the dirt less. Bindings take a beating when it comes to handling and getting soiled.

My mind runs n a totally different direction, with this many colors I love a pieced binding using all the colors in the quilt, or a matching stripe cut on the bias. Just a thought.

I like the dark binding better or one of the darker colors (blue, etc.) from the squares might make a nice binding.

I don't agree with the first statement, but I agree with the second. With a light binding, it is confusing. A dark binding will carry your eye to the center of the quilt, which is utterly beautiful. It doesn't need to be up-staged by another light color around the outside.

I "generally" go with the darker color for binding. It seems, to my idled mind, it would stay cleaner??

I like the dark binding best--I just like the brightness/perkiness of it.
