There are alot but not all of them are good for quilting. Roxanne's will get hard so you need to wet it soon after to dissolve it. I use Elmer's school glue stick for appliqueing and it works out great.

I have those "wonder if" moments, too, and just try an idea in my head - if it doesn't work, it goes in the trash and never thought of again - but if it works - - - - hooray!!
