Default Fabric From Marshall's Dry Goods?

Who can tell me about the quality of the fabric sold at Marshall Dry Good's retail store in Batesville, AR? I have an opportunity to go there soon, but it will be two hours drive from where I'm staying. Is it worth it? I have looked at their fabric on Ebay, and lots of it is selling for $1.50--2.00 a yard! Can the fabric be decent at those prices? Or is it really thin and flimsy? I would like some opinions please, from some of you who have bought it. Many thanks in advance!

It's a fun store. So much stock that it kind of makes your head swim when you walk through the doors. If you go, enjoy! I know I did! And brought home some good fabrics.

I just back a quilt with their $7.98 fabric, it is strong and sturdy and 108". A great buy!

The fabric is good quality. I stopped there but I will order from them. I think the quality is almost as good as the quilt shops.

I have bought fabric from them and was very pleased at the quality. And of course, with their price. I will buy from them in the future!

I go there all the time. It's about an hour and a half from me. Marhall's has several warehouses. One is where the fabric is delivered and rolled onto bolts. The one open to the public is where the bolts are stored and by the yard is sold. Marshall's is a fabric distributor with sales reps. Quilt shops from all over buy there fabric there. Everything from novelty fabric sold at Walmart to Jenny Beyer, to Kaffe Fasset. I even found some older Liberty of London there. Marshall's has their own brand of fabric printed and it is quilt shop quality. It's all the way to the right when you walk in on the wall shelves. I love the bargain bins. You never know what will be in those. Every cheater cloth pattern you can imagine, and the printed patterns on fabric for tree skirts, aprons, etc. In the back they have a table where all the new fabric samples from the manufacturers are spread out. You can see what is coming to the warehouse. I make a day of shopping there, eating at Josie's Steakhouse on the water for lunch. It revives my creative soul!
