What textile medium do you recommend to soak my fabric in and for how long. Does Aloe Vera work?

Am I assuming correctly that you soak your fabric in medium before coloring?

The link posted by quiltnnan is very informative about using the prismacolor pencils.

The author of that link tells what medium she used to set the colored pencil .colors.

The class was two days and we did samples of all types of pencils, paints, and mediums with each one. And how to work with all the mediums, dry or wet fabric, how to set the colors, and different fabrics to use. I can't give you a direct answer of yes or no. Maybe you could find a class on Craftsy. There are more classes then just quilting. Lots of art classes there too. Classes are the best way to learn a new technique.

Just try out a sample...or several...different colors and wash them after setting them with an iron perhaps?...
I don't know if they are that permanent...I used micron ink pens when I made a label...heat set them...
and hope they are still permanent !..
