I fold it on a 5 x 24 inch ruler end to end. Pull out the ruler and fold in half. There is tute on youtobe. I will try to find the link. Or use the search on here for fabric folding.

I have mine on those boards mostly, but not all - it just got too expensive...I bought a plastic corrugated board from Home Depot and cut them with my rotary cutter.
I have a tower of plastic stackable drawers with them in it. I do have a lot of small pieces...fat quarter more or less since I do applique a lot.

Most of my fabric is here in this closet. I have my accuquilt shapes in the containers on the far left. I have some
WIP upstairs at the sewing desk and more at the sewing desk downstairs. I also have Accuquilt qppliques in another cabinet. I have fleece and flannels stored in their own containers under my cutting table. Fat quarters are stored in the wicker cd baskets.

I like fabric contained because I hate the dust. I've also had fabric damaged by light, so prefer it in a room with no natural sunlight.
Would I like it on the shelf? Sure, but my collection is too large, so never going to happen unless I can use it down a LOT.

I, too, am organizing my fabrics. Mine are organized in the way that I would look for them. I have butterflies, blenders, batiks, florals, groups (fabrics that I bought together because they match and will be used for the same project), blues, black/white, reds/oranges, etc. I think whatever works for YOU is the right way to do it. I had a beautiful lime green floral and I knew I needed a blender to go with it. I found exactly what I needed packed away neatly (what a concept!). Right now things are packed because my North Carolina move is getting closer, but once I get settled, fabrics will be stored behind closed doors, because some fabrics DO fade.
