IMO it's just wrong to mark up the fabric already there, the fabric they got for the lower price.

Lets boycott!!! well that ain't going to happen. we are all too addicted to quilting. I understand having to increase their prices but it has to stop somewhere. many people will stop or slow down their quilting. I just wish that the government would get out of our lives. I am not trying to be political or anything but come on. The more they interfere in anything the worse things get. JMHO.

I guess it's a good thing that I have been buying fabric like crazy this year. I have enough to last me for several quilts & other projects. I'll just stalk the sales.

Frankly I cannot bear to touch the WM or JoAnn fabrics. I have been strictly high quality quilt shops! The prices have hiked up - but it is worth it in the long run. My quilts are made to keep. My one and only WM fabric quilt was brutally destroyed in the washer. All that work in a ball.
I shop groceries at Aldi's - I buy discount or sale on clothing, home repairs and I keep my thermostat low in the winter and high in the summer. But my fabric habit will not suffer. My DH has a similar attitude about his beer and vehicle.

I wont' buy the cotton fabric on the quilting wall at WalMart for quilts because they fade too much but the Quilt of the Month fabric is very nice and holds up. So far the one yard machine quilted piece I have washed in every load of clothes since I bought it is still looking good and no shredding or weak spots along the stitching. I have lots of name brand quilt shop fabric and I'm happy with the Quilt of the Month fabric.

I made place mats from some of WalMart fabric. They've been washed at least a dozen times. The fabric still looks as good as the fabric that's only been washed once.
