Fabric Returning to Wal-Mart : Report from Wall Street.
#183
My nearest Wal-mart still has fabric, but most of the others around here no longer have it. One had fat-quarters, but the last time I was there they had disappeared. I really was disappointed that they did away with most of the wal-marts fabrics. Many people relied on the fabrics available there.

Well, good. I just filled out one of those surveys today. I put
fabrics as something to bring back BUT there has to be someone in the department to sell and cut it. Our wm has some fabric still, but rarely anyone there to cut--so I go elsewhere. One time I waited 25 minutes while other employees called for help three times. I gave up and went to
JoAnn's. That is really sad, so I hope something is done about that. Thanks for the good news.

When the Wal-mart here had fabrics the ladies serving in the department were most always there & gave good service. I hope they will again have fabric, it is so much more convienent since rarely a week goes by that I don't go there. If only to get milk. When they had fabrics I check them out almost every trip to Wal-mart, I just had to at least look.

I guess I am wishing for too much (especially since we don't know the extent of the return of fabric to WM, but I wish they would relocate to the back corner of the store too.
Of the three WM in Topeka they left fabric in one but when they remodeled it went to the middle of the store and sized down. It's just not as welcoming (not the right word, but hope you know what I mean) as when you had the whole corner store so to speak.

Lukily, my walmart has fabric, and i have noticed they have increased it's volume. I'm happy to hear this for those that do not have fabric in their stores. I believe Sam would be happy that the executives are listening to the customers again.

What great new for a source we can trust...the stock market! There's nothing like potential increase profit and traffic to get the attention of decision makers. I for one have been nagging our local Wal-Mart store manage ever since they removed the fabric department. I keep telling him to keep an eye on the new "celebrations" department and see how many people are there at any time; then try remembering back a few years and visualize his always busy fabric department. He usually gets my point. Anyway, I will keep any eye open on my Clarksburg WV store and let you all know if I see any movement toward re-establishing a fabric dept. Great News!!
