fabric storage plastic vs cardboard
#1
I use both but i wanted to show you the options you have.
The cardboard is used by all textile companies, i've seen fabric wrapped on the original bolts for 10+ years without damage to the fabric. I have used the corrigated plastic, sold in 4'x8' sheets at local sign shops for $14.00 per sheet or if purchased in multiples you can get 14 sheets for $10.00 each or $140.00 that volumn purchase will net you 672 8"x12" pieces. You will have to cut them six 8" cuts on the horizonal and eight 12" cuts on the vertical. I use a box cutter and metal square 4' ruler cutting the verticals first. clear as mud? anyway here are some pics. what i like about the plastic, it fits perfectly on boolshelves, and i can cut the 8"x12" into 4"x 6" for my smaller pieces if i want.

I may start cutting up card board, I really don't want to spend money, I am thinking that even if I wrap the fabric and then stick it back in the totes it would still be more organized than it is. I never thought you could do it on 8x12 pieces.
