Default Fabric Store in Stone Mountain, GA

Is anyone familiar with this store ---- I think it might be called Discount Fabrics but it is a huge warehouse type place with lots of Home Dec fabrics on right side as you come in the door, lots of Home Dec trim along the opposite wall ----- and in the middle towards the left side, tables piled high with mostly short ends of calico, novelty, cottons and knits which are usually priced around$2.99 a yard -----

I have been there twice in the last few years and had a great time pulling fabrics out of those piles. But the first time I was there a person who was a local told me that those tables/piles aren't always there. Can anyone speak to this? We are thinking of another trip down that way but would hate to find those tables empty as that would be what I would be looking for.

Sure will appreciate any information you might have ----- even the name of the store and maybe a phone number?

From your description and the online reviews of fabric stores in Stone Mountain, it appears that you are referring to Fabric World 770-413-7655.

There was a Discount Fabric in the Atlanta area (maybe 3?), but have closed.

(This is based totally on internet searches. I have no direct knowledge about this.)

It is hit or miss with cotton fabric. Call and ask if they have any. My friends and I go all the time and have found great fabric for quilting.

Thanks so much for your answers. Yes -- it's Fabric World now that I think about it.

Will have to keep this in mind for the next time I'm visiting that area. Both my kids moved to Atlanta, so we make the trip every other year.

Last year we swung through Arkansas on the way home to hit Marshalls.
