Girls, you're looking at this all wrong....if you cut fabric you own already, and use it all up, you get to go buy more . I don't see a problem here!

Well, if you don't use that beautiful fabric sometime, someone else will get it for a steal and will happily use it! I know that I am digging into my "too pretty to cut" fabrics because I want to use them before I die and my family sells it for $1 a pound!!!

I agree with Teri, use it as a backing and you won't have to cut it up unless you need to to fit the front.

One of my all time favorite patterns for large scale prints is Shoji Screen.
Go to Google search for Shoji Screen images and there are some great ones.

Same for me! Once I find the perfect pattern, I am eager to cut into that beautiful fabric and make the quilt. I have a coordinating set of 4 one-yard pieces just like that right now. They are gorgeous, modern prints and I just have not found the right pattern for them. But I love looking at quilts/patterns for inspiration, and know that one day the perfect one will find me.

I had a piece I didn't want to cut, I finally did and cut into large pieces and just put a blender between the pieces. It turned out very well. You could cut it into 8 or 10" squares and put sashes between them. That would show them off real well.

Pattern in link would be easy enough to figure out.......measurements below pic give sizes of strips needed and description said either use a panel or chunk of fabric.....cool look

Yes I'm right there with you! I just made a quilt called Floating Frames by White Birches. The center is a 10" square that's great for gorgeous prints that you hate to cut. I also made a quilt using 9" pieced blocks that were set with 9" whole cloth blocks that I was able to use some great focus fabric for.

What if I need more of a specific design and can't find it? What if, what if, what if?!? I know it's crazy - because if I love the fabric as it sits in my bookcase, just think of how much I will love it wrapped around me in a quilt! Just need encouragement making that first cut....
I could have written this. I have several pieces I just keep to look at.
