I have just dealt with this very problem with some LQS fabric that I paid over $10 a yd for. Even though your fabric has been washed & dried you can still treat it with Retayne. I had to use it twice to get my fabric to stop bleeding. I still did not trust it & washed it in a final wash using the Color Catcher Sheets. They came out pretty clean so felt it was safe to go ahead & start cutting the fabric for my quilt. I've not had much luck with Vinegar but I might not have used enough either. I use the Retayne as the bottle instructs...1 tsp or Tblsp per yd of fabric. I use the bottle cap. LOL Good Luck.

Hi! Thanks so much for all of your feedback!! I am new to this site and it is wonderful to have quilting friends to ask questions.

I do not know the manufacturer, but it was over $15.00 yard (wide quilt backing) with a discount of 30 or 40% per yard. I bought 1 1/4 yard for two baby quilts. It was purchased at Hancocks in Clarksville, TN.

Thank goodness it is only one piece of fabric. I have not quilted the two blankets yet. I will run it through the Retayne a couple of times before I use it.

Thanks again for all of your help!

    great info, thanks
