I totally agree with comments about how sad these situations are and the way some people view quilts.
I want to know how they keep the floor so shiny and clean! There were quilts and fabrics laying all over the place and I ddn't see anyone coming along to clean up.
It would be interesting to get a worker's viewpoint about the job and the conditions under which they work.

I have the perfect solution, send your quilt to them and let them break their backs in the sweat shop binding your quilt. This way you don't have to buy one of those do dads, and the work is done for you in the blink of an eye, which leaves you time to do something else.

I have the binding tool for my HV Designer 1. Unfortunately the owner of the shop that gave me a private lesson could only make it work with commercial bias binding. She also said she had to round off all the corners because she couldn't make it work on square corners. The saddest thing of all was that after talking to more than 20 salespersons in many dealerships she was the only person who had any knowledge about this attachment. After playing many hours with this expensive gizmo it sits in the drawer.

All of those look like single-purpose industrial machines, which have a much higher stitch-per-minute max than most of our domestic home machines. I think the fastest domestic machine is 1600 stitches per minute (most are half that or less). My bet is that those industrial machines are even faster than 1600 stitches per minute.

For sure a sweat shop.... I spent 16 years in one... you get paid by the piece and if you have to blow your nose it comes out of your wages! Very hard work! When they moved Pendleton Woolen Mills work to Mexico in 1996 they closed our factories, and the work I was doing here they got for $.67 per hour with no benifits! And displaced about 250 workers in the US!

This looks like a labor camp. I wonder how much these people make. This is why our economy is so bad. These people probably are paid very little and have to produce a lot.

Sweat shop quilting! I always wondered how cracker barrell etc could afford to sell a hand sewn quilt for a hundred dollars.
