    Some of those come already cut rom the company - the stores do not cut them. I have seen this happen with jelly rolls.

    From personal retail experience, I am not surprised. Sorry though!

    I took back FQ's to JoA and they pointed out the label says approx size!!! Haven't bought any since!!

    I don't like to buy fat quarters, don't mind if a batch of fabric is bunched as "scraps", then you dont expect it to be perfect. For fat quarters, I'd shop hop with 3 more quilters, each pick out equal amts of different fabrics, go home and quarter it up and trade - sharet

    Plus, at our local JoAnn's they do not give any discount for finishing a bolt. You pay full price. They try to square the fabric, but inevitable it is off some and with each cut, it is off more... I think this is a corporate decision to keep their overhead losses down. If we don't complain, how will they know that we are not happy? I bet the FQ's are a way to use up the end of a bolt which would not be necessarily square.

    Every company has problems, but their success - long and short term - depends on how they handle them. Like many of you, I no longer buy fabrics from them. I explained to a store manager why I don't buy their fabrics anymore, and the response was "my hands are tied and there is nothing I can do". Hmmm - not even tell corporate??? As has been said on the board already, a problem cannot be fixed until someone who can fix it knows about it!!!

    This is a good idea if you have time. If not YES say something. Not fair to pay for what you can't use.
