We don't get many TV quilt shows. But I watch everyone I like on the web: Jenny, Leah Day, Anita Grossman, and several of the Craftsy instructors, The Gourmet Quilter, Rose Smith, Nancy Zieman, etc. It seems like there are a lot of talented instructors today who are demonstrating nice shortcuts for making complicated looking quilts (but aren't complicated) I know I left out a lot of names from Craftsy, sorry.

In addition to the TV celebrities, I've been privileged to see several fine quilters do presentations for our guild meetings here in The Woodlands, TX. I have learned so much. I think my favorite in person and on her website, quiltville.com as well as her blog and quilt cam, is Bonnie Hunter.

Eleanor Burns is my favorite. She's the one that encouraged me to try quilting because she makes it seem so simple. It's not, but she makes the most difficult easy to understand. I also love her stories. Awesome lady!

Nancy started her show in '82, and I was married in '81. I've been watching her since then.
My husband does NO sewing, but 'Nancy' mentioned by either of us in this house is instantly recognized. I'd watch her religiously, spent many yea
It's funny, over the years my husband has come outside and reminded me on Saturdays, that Nancy's on in 15 minutes

I've been reading and watching Nancy Z since before I caught the quilting bug. I love Judy Martin's books. I used to watch Alex Anderson back in her Simply Quilts days. And I have learned a ton from Elanor Burns as well as F&P.
But I guess Bonnie Hunter is probably my favorite. I was lucky enough to take a class with her when our guild brought her to Birmingham several years ago. Somehow she seems like a kindred spirit.
