Andover/Makower, Northcott and Michael Miller are the three I drool over the most. Northcott for their glorious silky cotton and the prints and colors of Makower and Michael Miller can make me spend money even when I don't need the material. Wilmington also is high on my list. I guess it would be easier to list who I don't care for, the list would be very short.

I am more particular about the tread that I use than the fabric. There are a lot of wonderful fabrics and designers but using the right thread can make your sewing experience happy and enjoyable or frustrating to the max! I teach needle turn applique and have found the masterpiece thread to be incredible no knotting or fraying just enjoyable hand sewing. The frosting collections allow you to have an incredible assortment of colors without a heavy duty investment and can be kept in a lipstick holder for convenient use. Love, love your thread and the education that you give.

I love Michael Miller jet black. Other than that I will buy whatever brand has the color/print of good quality that fits my pattern and works with the other colors/prints.

I love most of them Hoffman, Kona Bay, Kaufman on and on but if I really had to choose, I would pick Freedom Fabric from England. I just love it and it is very hard to find. I have found one site that carries it,
www.quiltkitsonline.com. Actually you can just Google quilt kits online. You can go into the Freedom Fabric site but can't buy directly from them. Hopefully, enough interested can be generated by this site to get more on line fabric stores to carry it.

Depends on the pattern and the color---no dreary fabric for me!
