Can't believe no one has mentioned "equilter.com". Not only has the fabric been consistently good, but the service is great, and, best of all has a search system that is great. The picture colors are extremely accurate! If your gs wants elephants, you can put in "elephants" and the first page will be filled with elephant prints and the following pages morph into jungles and other jungle animals and other things that may only slightly fit the theme. But, by then you've found what you want. Your search brings up small pictures and if one looks good you click on it and bring it up large. The info next to the bigger picture has all the information you need, including the size of a figure or flower or ....? in the fabric, so you know exactly what you are getting. I've been ordering from equilter for years. It can be done on-line or by phone. Highly reccomended!

I've never gotten a bad fabric (and always good service) from Hancocks of Paducah, Hawthorne Threads, Fat Quarter Shop, Equilter, Thousands of Bolts

That said, I do buy mostly at LQS and several here have online stores, but if they don't carry it I go online :)

Thanks for the recommendation, we appreciate it!

I'm having a lot of difficulty getting my message to post so my apologies in advance if it shows up multiple times. I'm new to quilting and was just wondering if anyone knows whether any of these companies mentioned ship to Canada and if it works to be a savings financially to order from them?

you confirmed my thoughts on fabric purchas. I never shop at JoAnns, or anyplace like it for fabric. I have had too many bad exp. They fade, shrink, bleed and so forth. Not worth the chance.

I shop online because there is not a LQS near me. I like:

Fabric.com - Free ship over $35, low prices, great customer service, fast shipping

Missouri Star Quilt: Daily Deal, Great Tut's, great customer service, $5 shipping, fast shipping

Hancock's Paducah: Unequaled selection, prices at retail but good sales, prompt shipping, good customer service

Connecting Threads: Lower prices (their fabric), books, etc, prompt shipping, good customer service.

I have ordered from others and have never had a bad experience.
