I'm about to undertake a new adventure, and I'm hoping you all can help. I work for a romance author who has the second three books in a series coming out starting in August. She will be giving away a quilt pattern on her website, which she commissioned from the fabulous Judy Hopkins. This week, we should receive cover art from her publishers' art department, and I want to find fabrics that coordinate with the covers of this year's books. I'm going to videotape my progress as I make the quilt (my first quilt!), as something extra for readers to look at on her website. I'm not telling the author about it yet. I want to surprise her.

I thought about taking my videocamera to JoAnn's Fabrics - there's a big one in Austin - but I'm worried that they might have corporate restrictions against filming in their stores. I don't know. Maybe I could call their corporate offices to ask permission???

But I thought another option would be to shop online for the fabric. Since I'll only have digital artwork of the book covers at that point, shopping online might be the best way to color match, anyway. LOL

I want really cute, girlie fabrics. I love the Moda line. Are there other companies that do similar fabrics? I'm more concerned with quality than with price. What are your favorite websites for buying high quality, special quilt fabrics?

Your work sounds very interesting! :D

I love Fabric.Com but to be honest I probably buy more on Ebay than anyplace else. They have wonderful shops there.

Thanks, Sue! I do have the best job ever. I feel so lucky!

Any particular ebay shop you can think of the name for?

I did find one site that looks *really* great, and I found it through this board. (Someone who runs the shop commented on another thread.) http://www.favoritefabric.com I love the fabrics, and I love the way they have them sorted by color family. It's going to be very helpful as I search.
