Oh, I love this part too. I have made lots of quilts and just even them to someone for no reason (other than I got to make the pattern)

Quilting is just plain good for a person!

snuggling up with the finished product of course.

I enjoy the piecing but especially when I place the sections of blocks together to see what I've created. I don't buy kits, just find a pettern I like, pick out fabrics and go from there. Making a OBW is especially fun to see the patterns emerge as you sew the triangles together.

Thinking of the person I am making it for and what I think they will like; designing something special for that person.

I like everything but especially working with the colors and textures together. And then on my " art" quilts I love seeing the layers of thread drawing really make the surface come alive.

Designing a quilt--pulling fabrics and making the tops.

It is hard to pick out what I like the most. I guess it would have to be the hand quilting. So relaxing for a few months. Strange as it may sound, I even like washing and ironing the fabric. I get a thrill at every step except making the sandwich.

Standing in front of the calico section at Joanne's and just taking in all those colors and patterns--oh, where to start.
