    Default Favorite Quilt Pattern

I mostly make baby quilts for family, and I often use a 9 square pattern ( different versions). I am making a special quilt ( a lap size throw) any suggestions on a different pattern. I have a color theme and six big pieces in that color(of course would love to shop for more). Thanks for ideas...

My go-to pattern is Log Cabin. There are so many different variations.

For a quick pattern, the disappearing nine patch looks complicated but isn't.

Eleanor Burns' Quick Trip makes a nice baby quilt with no seams to match, and uses 6 FQ. We made this one: Chatham's quilt is finished

Here is her YouTube tutorial: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=33vvUv...CS2Lw&index=41

Not sure I have a favorite, but I made a quilt in all pinks using this pattern by our very own Jeanne S , here on the board. You can see how well it adapts to various color themes and sizes.

Thanks so much for the link. I had this added to my favorites on my old laptop. The laptop died and I lost my bookmarks and had forgotten about this pattern. Do you have a pic of your pink one that you could post?

D9P is so much fun to make. It looks complicated but isn't. I also love LC and Irish Chains too.

For baby quilts, I seem to go to the pinwheel pattern where you sew around the square and cut in an X. I guess it's because I am usually in a hurry to get it done and in the mail to the new mama and daddy.
