I personally LOVE Australian Patchwork and Quilting. They many scrap quilts which I love, a lot of applique, fusible or needle turned, and just really unusual quilt patterns. The magazines are expensive $10.00 per issue but I think they are well worth it!
Australian Patchwork and Quilting was my favorite when they were available. Did not realise they have gotten so expensive. I have made more quilts from the few mags of theirs then the years worth of all the others put together.

I like Fons and Porter Love of Quilting. I usually like several of the quilts in each issue and I like reading the tips and the technique How-to's. I also like Quick Quilts, because the quilts are... well... QUICK!! :D

Or treat yourself to a coffee at a Barnes and Noble (or Borders) bookstore and browse their selection. Some people like lots of patterns, others prefer more stories. I'm sure the right one will stand up for you.

Another idea. Use your 40% off coupon at JoAnn's and buy a magazine (after your do a quick preview at the magazine stand). Occasionally they don't have them marked 10% off and you can use the coupon. To me, that 10% off is just another one of JoAnns moves to prevent customers from getting a good deal on something. I find that if you buy a subscription to one of the quilting magazines, they usually come out to close to what the 40% off coupon price is per issue. My favorite is American Patchwork & Quilting. I also get McCalls & Fons & Porter. Quick Quilts has some neat quilts, too. Another thing I have done is buy lots of older quilting magazines on eBay.
