    Hi Gabrielle's,

I wonder if we have crossed paths at the Barnes & Noble [Phoenix Metro Center] or at the Borders [PV mall area.] You do what I do. Often do it with a friend.

When I was working I had some quilting buddies at work and in the community and we each got different magazines and then shared. I scanned what I wanted to keep so I didn't have to keep paper around. My own magazines came back to me and I took them to a weeknight quilting group I belong to and shared them there too.

Quilter's Home, though it's really quirky and maybe too irreverent for many people. It's the only quilting magazine I subscribe to now (my daughter gives it to me for Christmas). Something I really like about it is product reviews--everything from stabilizers to scissors.

This is interesting to read. Everyone is different. I have just not taken to Better Homes and Gardens or Fons and Porter. But, I love Quilters Newsletter for all of their news. I like American Quilter for it's technical info. I also like Fabric Trends, Quilters Home, Quilters World and Quilters. I subscribe to way too many, but I also buy others I don't subscribe to. I think I am a magazine junkie. They all have their pros and cons. I go to Borders and check out all that they have and my Borders has tons of quilt magazines.

I like Fons and Porter, and McCalls Quick Quilts which I take out from the library each month.

They are different tho. Are you into more traditional quiltmaking? Do you make Art Quilts? They do cater to different topics. I prefer "Quilting Arts".

I subscribe to Quilter's Home and have even spent a week at quilt camp in Michigan with Mark Lipinski, but I am not renewing. He left the magazine after only a few years to go and start another magazine. I feel like QH is trying to copy his style but they don't quite make the mark (pardon the pun!). He is outrageous and irreverent but he is also funny, quirky and original. I am annoyed that I have a subscription to a magazine that has slipped a bit.

I just found out there are six of them in the US.

If you were to subscribe to just one quilting magazine, which one would you choose?

    and why?

    thanks
I do not subscribe to any quilt magazines but we have a local "Borders Book Store" where you can look through any books or magazines at your leisure. It also has a little cafe, I order a javakula, sit back, check out the magazines & dream - dream - ahh, probably dreaming my life away - what a way to go !!

My favorite is "Quilt". They offer wonderful patterns and they are very detailed on the cutting and piecing and they even give you a quilting pattern. I wish we lived nearby so that I could share some of my magazines with you.
