Now just to show my nerdy side, here's my favorite quote ....... Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.

    My favorite quote is

Life...it may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we should dance. Unknown

There is a line in a song in the musical Pippin (about Charlemagne's fictional son that the grandmother sings "the one thing to be sure is there's nothing to be sure of".

Never under estimate the power of a woman with a sewing machine.

If you don't dream it you won't have it.

NEVER BE DEFINED BY YOUR PAST. IT WAS JUST A LESSON, NOT A LIFE SENTENCE.

You don’t need to know everything if you’re good at learning.

This was a favorite of my Dad....
You can never be hung for what you're thinking.....it's when you spit it out of your mouth that you're in trouble....

p.s. - have thoroughly enjoyed this thread...

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die. For the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle for me. It's a sort of splendid torch which I've got to hold up for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing on to future generations."

This has served as life model for me. So much so that one of my students cross stitched the " I want to be thoroughly used up when I die" quote for my office when I was teaching.
I just lost a life time friend and this soooo sums up her life. She lived life to the fullest and loved many. My life is forever blessed by great memories of a great friend.

This one pertains to many things in life--including quilting.
