Scrappy and star type. I also like designing my own quilts. I like playing with traditional blocks and blowing them up.

I like challenging ones too. I am in the middle of a storm at sea and I did "southern comfort" a while back. Its my avatar. Tons of HST for border and set in seams on blocks. Very rewarding

not really a favorite to make - lots are designed around the fabric i have chosen to use - and what coordinating colors i have to go with it. I find that the "harder" the pattern, the more careful I am in piecing it. The "easier" ones, like D9P, Take 5, etc I tend to get careless b/c you can make them so fast - maybe b/c I get bored and in a rush to just do them?

I seem to enjoy challenging quilts although I enjoy them all so far, because the challenge of color presentation can often be as challenging as any design to keep a pattern fresh and exciting.

I so agree with you. You can take four colors - all the same - and give all four colors to four people and the whole quilt will be completely different. That's what I enjoy. Sometimes I pick the fabric to go with the design and some times I pick the design to go with the fabric. Right now I am doing a three color 12" block quilt - 48 blocks. I am working on light, medium and dark. Sometimes I change it from light, medium and dark and make the dark light, the light medium and the medium dark. Totally changes the whole thing. That's what makes it your quilt. Right? Right! Edie

I love scrappy quilts and/or quilts that are fast and easy to piece. I have very little time to piece for myself so I usually pick something that is strip pieced. Some of my favorite patterns though are stars, Log Cabins, Irish Chain, Double Wedding Ring, Nine Patch.

The quilt process I like best are ones that are easy but look more difficult (D9P; Twister-just got the tool), but the ones I enjoy having the most are ones that have a theme . . . I've made the jar quilt wall hanging, scenic panel attic windows wall hanging; wreath, leaf quilt-WIP).
